Tokyo Sinfonietta @ Toppan Hall

Tokyo Sinfonietta, an instrumental ensemble specializing in playing pieces written by currently active contemporary classical music composers, will play in a Dec. 9 concert four tunes that were first played in a studio for broadcast. Yasuaki Itakura will conduct.

The group will play "XLIII Memoriam Vivere" written in 2015 by Marisol Jimenez, who is from Mexico and is now based in Berlin; "Billow" (2015) by Shoichi Yabuta; "Omowaku" ("Sinister Thoughts") for a large ensemble (2019) by Yasutaki Inamori; and "Chamber Concerto 1 - Aqua" (2009, 2019) by Tokuhide Niimi.
