Kyoto: Dai-monji Gozan Okuri-bi

Great Bonfire lit on Kyoto's five mountains. Great spectacular bonfires in the shape of the Chinese character "Dai (大)" meaning "large" or "space" on the slope of Mt. Higashiyama, and also in the shape of four other Chinese characters on four other mountains are kindled. This is the most spectacular event of Bon Festival in Kyoto. If it heavily rains, the schedule of this event is subject to change.
