Niigata: Joetsu Matsuri

Festival featuring a parade of mikoshi, floats and folk dancers, held daily. The highlight of this festival is mikoshi-no-Kawakudari in which mikoshi is crossed over Seki River with a boat from Takada district to Naoetsu district. Many events are scheduled during the festival period.

JR Hokuriku Shinkansen Line to Joetsumyoko Sta. From there, take Echigo Tokimeki Railway Myoko Haneuma Line to (1) Takada District: Takada Sta. (2) Naoetsu District: Naoetsu Sta.
