Yamagata: Kuromori Kabuki

Local Kabuki (traditional play by men) and Kyogen (traditional comic drama) Play with a more than 280-year tradition is performed on the makeshift stage set up in the shrine precincts.

● Feb. 15 & 17
from 10 a.m.: Shonen-Taiko (Japanese drumming performed by boys) from noon: Kodomo Kabuki (Kabuki play by boys) performance
1 p.m.-4 p.m. Kyogen performance

Location: Hie-jinja Shrine, Kuromori, Sakata, Yamagata


Access:
JR Uetsu Honsen Line to Sakata Sta. From there, take bus (for Yunohama) to Naka-Kuromori Bus Stop (40 min.)
