Nara: Tsuina-e (Oni-oi-shiki)

Rites of driving away devils. The rites including Buddhist sermon are conducted at the two temples. Both are listed as the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage sites.

Schedule & Key events:
from 6:30 p.m.: Rites at Kofuku-ji Temple
from 7 p.m.: Rites at Horyu-ji Temple

Access:
(1) Kofuku-ji Temple: Kintetsu Nara Line to Kintetsu Nara Sta., and then walk 5 min. or JR Nara Line to Nara Sta., and then take Nara Kotsu bus to Kencho-mae Bus Stop (5 min.) (2) Horyu-ji Temple: JR Nara Line to Nara Sta. From there, take JR Kansai Honsen Line to Horyuji Sta., and then walk 20 min. or Kintetsu Nara Line to Kintetsu Nara Sta., and then take Nara Kotsu bus to Horyuji-mae Bus Stop (1 hr.)
