Kochi: Akiba Matsuri

Festival with an over 200-year history, featuring a pageant of 200 townspeople wearing traditional costumes following mikoshi (portable shrine), along the mountain paths stopping by three major sites where they perform local performing arts to the tune of music.

8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Parade from Iwaya-jinja Shrine to Akiba-jinja Shrine

Location: Akiba-jinja Shrine, Iwaya-jinja Shrine and others, Niyodogawa-cho, Kochi

JR Dosan Line to Sakawa Sta., and then take taxi (40 min.)
