Gifu: Muika Matsuri (Hana-bai Matsuri)

Festival featuring Ennen-no-mai (ancient dance with music, which is designated as one of the National Important Intangible Folk Cultural Properties) performance and Hana-bai in which youths scramble to grab five big artificial flowers hung from the ceiling (6 meters in height) of the main hall of the shrine.

from 1 p.m.: Shinto ritual pray
1:40 p.m.-3 p.m. Ennen-no-mai performance and Hana-bai

Location: Nagataki Hakusan-jinja Shrine, Shirotori-cho, Gujo, Gifu


Access:
JR Takayama Honsen Line to Mino-Ota Sta. From there, take Nagaragawa Tetsudo Line to Hakusan-Nagataki Sta., and then walk 5 min.
