This showcase of two Japanese artists and one British — Tatsuo Miyajima, Mariko Mori and Darren Almond — explores scientific approaches to contemporary art.
Miyajima works closely with artificial intelligence researchers in his pursuit to create something that "moves like a living organism"; Mori focuses on life and death through symbolic installations inspired by the religion and rituals of ancient Celtic and Jomon cultures; while Almond uses and manipulates natural light for photographs and sculptures to capture the "unknown" properties of his subjects.
All three link art to natural sciences, whether it's ancient astronomy, modern cosmology or anthropology. (Yukari Tanaka)
