Annual Festival of the shrine. The highlight of this festival is a parade of horojishi (floats each drawn by a man wearing a huge and vigorous lion headgear).

● Sept. 16
2 p.m.-4 p.m. mikoshi proceeds from the shrine to Okaridono (Okariya)
● Sept. 17
10:30 a.m.-noon Sumo tournament is held by townspeople
1 p.m.-3 p.m. Japanese dance and kagura are performed
1 p.m.-7 p.m. Mikoshi parades throughout the town
from 3 p.m.: Horojishi parades on the city's main street
from 6:45 p.m.: Dashi(float) parades on the city's main street
● Sept. 18
2 p.m.-4 p.m. Mikoshi returns from Okaridono (Okariya) to the shrine

JR Joban Line to Ishioka Station, and then walk 20 min.
