This is a question for dudes: Why do you assume it's always the woman who wants the stable, solid relationship and that men want to remain free, unencumbered and sex-crazy?
That's a formula that Hollywood has always relied on — probably thinking in its egomaniacal sexist way that it's a surefire way to draw chicks and their dates to a film, like bears to honey.
In this day and age, however, we need to change things up a bit because the secret has been out for a long time now: Women sow their wild oats too. What happens when they neglect those oats was portrayed in "Gone Girl," which should have been titled "The Stable Suburbia of my Marital Discontent."
