Have you ever wondered how it would look if a panda or maybe a swan pro-wrestled a clown or a GI soldier? Well, here's an opportunity for you to find out. Hanayashiki Pro-wrestling is one of those events that even if you aren't interested in wrestling, may just pique your interest.
Designed as an experience for parents to enjoy with their kids, Hanayashiki Pro-wrestling pits all manner of characters against each other: panda vs. bee, bear vs. pig, even swan vs. roller coaster. Fans who remember the pro-wrestling boom back in its heyday of the mid 1960s and '70s can now introduce the sport to younger members of their family in a fun and amusing way.
Dressed up in a variety of funny eye-catching costumes, 16 wrestlers will fight each other in bouts created to be especially interesting for a younger audience. This is the fifth event since the tournament kicked off in September, and it consists of five separate "one-fall" matches, including one-on-one and tag-team bouts. Highlights include matches such as Miguel the Bear and Mr. Swan teaming up against rivals Disk'O and the Masked Bee.
If you can't make this particular set of games, don't despair — it's a monthly event, with the next one taking place on Feb. 7 and the one after that on March 29.
Hanayashiki Pro-wrestling takes place on Jan. 17, from 6:30 p.m., at the Hanayashiki theater in Hanayashiki amusement park in Asakusa, Tokyo.
