Released last week is a new digitally remastered version of Yasujiro Ozu’s classic 1953 family drama “Tokyo Monogatari (Tokyo Story),” voted the best film ever made in the 2012 Sight & Sound magazine directors’ poll. Issued in Japan by Shochiku to celebrate the 110th anniversary of Ozu’s birth, this English-subbed DVD offers little in the way of extras, but is priced right at ¥2,800.

In line with COVID-19 guidelines, the government is strongly requesting that residents and visitors exercise caution if they choose to visit bars, restaurants, music venues and other public spaces.
