The Adachi Museum of Art has been collecting the work of contemporary nihonga (Japanese-style painting) artists who have been represented at the prestigious Inten public exhibitions run by Japan Fine Arts Institute.

Today’s nihonga painters use more varied subjects and themes, and this exhibition focuses on works depicting Japanese and foreign landscapes. Most of the works are also accompanied by the artist’s comments, explaining how the piece was researched and constructed.
