The winding streets of Tokyo will be alive with music as artists flock to the capital for Japan Music Week starting Nov. 4.
This is the third time for JMW to put on its international music showcase and festival. The focus is on new and emerging talent who are often lost in a city filled with nightly gigs. It's also a chance for music lovers to check out something different.
The event's motto is "One music, one world," but 500 artists are set to perform at 40 different venues around Tokyo. Name a genre, and you'll most likely find it.
Another interesting feature of JMW are the nationally themed nights that offer a chance to listen to bands from Canada, New Zealand and more.
To attend the event, music fans can either purchase a JMW wristband from their website or buy tickets directly from vendors. The wristband will give you access to all of the participating venues at no charge or a considerable discount. However, wristbands do not mean priority entrance, so if a show looks set to sell out, JMW says it is best to buy a ticket in advance.
