A visually impressive exhibition, "The Body Beautiful in Ancient Greece" explores the human form through a selection of Greek sculpture from the British Museum, which houses one of the most extensive collections of such sculpture in the world.
Greek artists experimented with sculpture for more than 2,000 years. From the simplicity of Archaic art to the naturalism of the Hellenistic period, they explored the representation of the human body and created vivid works of art that helped define how we look at ourselves today. The highlight of this traveling exhibition is the debut tour of a Roman period "Diskobolus," a perfectly formed discus thrower.
