Luna Regalo serves up a flip


If you are thinking of going to a restaurant this weekend, why not take the opportunity to enjoy some acrobatics at the same time?

Since April, Luna Regalo (Gift from the Moon) has been offering a unique and entertaining dining show to its customers. Diners are served three dishes and a dessert, all connected to the moon in some way. Each season also invites different first-class chefs to prepare the meals, so repeat visitors can enjoy new tastes (the first season was from April to June, the second was from July to August). This final season’s dishes are cooked by four prime chefs, including Kenichi Chen, who is well known as the Chinese-food specialist from Fuji TV’s “Iron Chef” cooking program. Toshihiko Yoroizuka, owner of popular patisserie Toshi Yoroizuka, will be on hand to serve up dessert.

But while you enjoy what’s on your plate, remember to keep your eyes on the show. Nineteen Acrobats from the Great Moscow Circus will perform between servings; one show, titled Vaulting Acrobats, features six performers, while the more romantic Aerial Adagio features a couple and a flying trapeze.

The dinner show is presented by Fuji TV and some of the channel’s newscasters will act as hosts.

Actor Toshiaki Karasawa also does emcee duties via an on-screen appearance.

The dinner show is suitable for friends, couples and families. Note, however, that you can only make reservations for parties of two.

After the Tokyo dinner shows are finished, the troupe will perform in Osaka from November until January, and Nagoya from February until May.
