When the Rody pony was first trotted out from an Italian toy company in 1990, its intention was to help children between the ages of 2-5 develop balance and coordination skills.

Soon the inflatable vinyl pony became a sensation among children worldwide. However in 2000, when Rody launched in Japan with its eye-catching colors and design, Rody became more of a pop icon rather than a children's toy. Handmade limited editions, miniature figurines, iPhone covers and all the novelties you can possibly imagine are a hit for Japan-based collectors.

This month more than 15 artists and fashion designers such as Manhattan Portage, The Wonderful! design works, and New Era will be participating at Rody Exhibition At Shibuya. Los Angeles-based fashion brand, XLarge will be exhibiting a specially designed skateboarder Rody.

Stopping by the Rody Exhibition might be a one-stop Christmas-shopping hit for friends of all ages.
