Ko Kimura's Kool party celebrates its 10th birthday at Club Yellow on April 28 with special guest DJ John Digweed. Kimura has been spinning house for over 20 years. The Kool parties, which regularly attract crowds of over 1,000, were started by Kimura and VJ E-male with the aim of providing a night of cutting edge dance music and visuals within a great party atmosphere.

In addition to his Kool parties, Kimura regularly plays some of the biggest clubs in the country and is also a pioneer of the mix album here. He was the first Japanese DJ to play the main floor of The Ministry of Sound superclub in London. As well as releasing Japan's first ever mix CD (1995's "Ultimate DJ's anthems"), his 1997 "Mixwork" was one of the first mix albums to feature songs from small, independent labels rather than more mainstream cuts approved by record executives.

Veteran Digweed has a reputation as one of the most innovative DJs in dance music for his sets of progressive house and is consistently voted by music magazines as one of the top 10 DJs globally. Digweed made his name in the early '90s playing progressive house alongside Sasha at the Renaissance nights at clubs in the north of England. Expect a set that combines deep techno, deep and funky house, trance and vocals.

The Kool 10th Anniversary Party takes place at Club Yellow, Cesaurus Nishi-Azabu B1-B2, 1-10-11 Nishi-Azabu, Minato-ku, Tokyo on April 28. Tickets are 4,000 yen at the door.
