Children in pale pink traditional costumes will dance and sing in a Hanezu Odori performance in Kyoto's Zuishin-in Temple on Sunday.
The performance will be held four times — at 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. Admission, which includes the temple's regular entrance fee and the charge to enter its popular plum tree garden, is ¥1,000 for adults and ¥800 for junior high school children.

Attend kimono dressing event in Suita
A professional kimono tutor will dress participants in kimono in Suita, Osaka Prefecture, on April 13.
Afterward, they can enjoy Japanese tea and cake and watch traditional Japanese dance. The session, which will be conducted in English, will last from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Kyoto community house to open garden
A traditional Japanese garden will open to the public from Saturday through April 21 in Kyoto International Community House Kokoka, which is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. except Mondays.
Japanese and international music and dance will be performed from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturdays and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays, and visitors can also buy food and drinks at stalls from various countries on weekends. Admission is free.

Nagoya Dome to host food festival
Visitors to Nagoya Dome from next Thursday to April 7 can buy various popular food from across Japan, with opportunities to sample some of the produce at stalls.
Dome Umaimon World 2013 is open from 10 a.m. daily. It will close at 6 p.m. April 4 and 7, and at 8 p.m. on April 5 and 6. Admission is ¥1,000 for adults and ¥500 for elementary school children.

Nagoya Castle holding spring festival
Nagoya Castle is holding its spring festival through May 6, with around 1,000 cherry trees of various kinds that will bloom during the event.
Visitors can also enjoy tea ceremony events on Sunday and April 7, concerts with Japanese traditional musical instruments on April 6, and 14, and watch old matchlocks being fired Thursday.
