I unplug things, hand wash dishes and I hang washing outside. People should rely less on all of the conveniences like dishwashers, turn the lights off and try opening the windows instead of the air conditioner.

The three r's: reduce, reuse and recycle. There should be increased support for hybrid cars, because ethanol burns cleaner. Tokyo needs more green places. They put up enough parking lots, they can put up more green.

I don't depend on my air conditioner and save paper and water at the office. Also things like turning off the water when washing my face, not leaving it running. And when I buy things from stores I try not to get plastic bags.

Using mass transit is a good idea. I'm from Seattle, where there isn't much. I drive all the time back home but here it's much easier. I also try to cut down on pollutant garbage like plastic, but they like packaging here.

Cut down on electricity. Cool Biz and Warm Biz are good ideas. Japanese think they should wear ties to work, but they should forget about that. If they really want to save natural resources, they should try cool biz and warm biz.

Saving bags. In New Zealand there is a big supermarket chain where you have to pay for bags, and that made a huge incentive for people to bring their own. It also sells canvas bags, which helps to change people's habits.
