One of the newest kids on the block in the highly competitive world of Japanese fashion is a menswear brand called Maji Maji, designed by Rynshu Hashimoto.

Known in Paris for his high-end "couture pour homme" brand, Masatomo, the Maji Maji line is Hashimoto's business venture -- or diffusion line, as it is known in the industry -- with Tokyo-based apparel maker D'Urban.

For the Autumn/Winter 2003/2004 season, Hashimoto created the Maji Maji line using opposing concepts: simplicity and complexity.
