The government of Sri Lanka has issued an international appeal for relief goods and donations for victims of recent flooding.
The Sri Lankan Embassy in Japan is accepting monetary contributions, which should be remitted to current account 0825611 at the Hiroo Branch (branch No. 047) of Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi.
The account is in the name “Embassy of Sri Lanka Tokyo.”
Material contributions, including dry rations, building materials and medicines, are also welcome, according to the embassy.

JETRO seeks applications for business proficiency test
The Japan External Trade Organization is accepting applications for the listening and reading comprehension portion of the annual JETRO Business Japanese Proficiency Test, which will be held in the fall.
The test, the eighth of its kind, will be conducted Oct. 18 in 32 cities in 15 countries, including eight cities in Japan: Tokyo, Osaka, Sapporo, Sendai, Niigata, Nagoya, Fukuoka and Oita.
The test is open to those whose mother tongue is not Japanese, regardless of nationality.
A total of 3,334 people across the globe took last year’s test.
The oral communication part of the test is scheduled to be held in February or March.
