'Baby Driver': Things go fast with Baby on board
Banzai to fossil fuels! Lots of love to gas-guzzlers! That's the basic sentiment behind "Baby Driver," which is all screeching tires and revving engines, unfolding to what has got to be the coolest movie soundtrack of 2017.

'Silence': A test of faith — and of patience
After spending nearly 30 years shepherding his adaptation of Shusaku Endo's "Silence" to the screen, Martin Scorsese may be starting to feel as forsaken as the book's Jesuit protagonist, abandoned by an uncommunicative and apparently uncaring God. Walking the Australian Outback in a shirt and undies looks impossibly beautiful
What would compel a young woman to walk almost 1,700 miles across the Australian Outback, with only a dog and a quartet of camels for company? As real-life nomad Robyn Davidson (played by Mia Wasikowska) says at the start of "Tracks" — director John Curran's handsome biopic — "I believe that when you've been stuck too long in one spot, it's best to throw a grenade where you are standing and jump, and pray."
