Ladies and gentlemen, Hakuho has left the building
When a rikishi wins the senior Makunouchi Division title in a Tokyo tournament he is usually transported back to his home stable in an open top car or, on rare occasions opts to walk.
Waving to the crowds like royalty and parting the assembled masses as he moves forward is all par for the course that usually sees a fellow sekitori of the same stable or group of stables sitting or walking beside the yusho winner and carrying the championship flag.
