The Houston Astros have acquired outfielder Norichika Aoki, the American League club said Thursday.
The 34-year-old Aoki, who bats left-handed, joined the Astros as a waiver claim from the Seattle Mariners and will be playing for his fifth team in his sixth season in Major League Baseball next year.
Despite being sent to the minors twice this past season, Aoki, who played for the Tokyo Yakult Swallows from 2004-2011, batted .283 with four homers and 28 RBIs in 118 games.
