Nana Yoshikawa claimed victory in her second attempt at a world title, defeating South Korea's former WBO women's flyweight champion Lee Eun-hye with a 2-0 decision Sunday.

Yoshikawa, 38, started out struggling against her aggressive 33-year-old opponent but dominated the 10-round bout from midway to the end, delivering accurate punches while at times putting Lee up against the ropes at Sangyo Shinko Center in Sakai, Osaka Prefecture.

"The only thing I felt was that I would win," said Yoshikawa, who now has a record of seven wins, including four knockouts, and one loss.

"This is the only thing I was after," she said of the champion's belt.

Yoshikawa's first crack at a world title ended in a 3-0 loss to WBA women's minimumweight champion Anabel Ortiz of Mexico in April 2015.
