Japan defender Yuto Nagatomo has pulled out of the upcoming World Cup qualifier against Australia with concussion-like symptoms, the Japan Football Association announced Friday.

No replacement will be called up for the Inter Milan fullback, who suffered the injury after colliding into Tomoaki Makino in training on Friday. Nagatomo looked set to start against Australia in Melbourne on Tuesday, with right-back Hiroki Sakai suspended on yellow cards.

Japan defeated Iraq 2-1 for its first home win of the final qualifying round on Thursday.
