Urawa Reds came from behind late in the match to win 2-1 at FC Tokyo on Wednesday in the first leg of their League Cup semifinal.
FC Tokyo grabbed an early lead through a header from midfielder Keigo Higashi in the fourth minute at Ajinomoto Stadium, but Urawa forward Toshiyuki Takagi equalized with a mid-range shot in the 77th and Yuki Muto added another three minutes later.
In the other semifinal match, Gamba Osaka and Yokohama F Marinos ended in a scoreless draw at Suita Stadium.
The second legs of the semifinals will be played Sunday. The final is scheduled Oct. 15 at Saitama Stadium.
