The East Asian Football Federation announced on Thursday that Japan will host the next East Asian Cup in December 2017.

The EAFF made the decision through meetings of its executive committee and congress. The fixtures and venues have yet to be decided.

The most recent East Asian Cup, which features both the men's and women's national teams of the 10 member nations, was held last August in China.

The EAFF also named Kozo Tashima, who took office as Japan Football Association President this past Sunday, as its new president.

Tashima will become the third Japanese to assume the post. The term is for two years.
