Naoya Tabara was third on Friday in a freestyle skiing World Cup aerials competition, scoring his first medal on the circuit in four years.

The 35-year-old Tabara reached a World Cup podium for the first time in January, 2012, when he was also third. On Friday, he earned 123.53 points. Russia's Petr Medulich was first with 128.05, while Ukraine's Oleksandr Abramenko was second with 124.89.

"My landings have gotten better ever since the start of this season," Tabara said. "I'm standing here because of colleagues and coaches who have supported me.

"It feels great to be back on the podium after a long time."
