Mongolian yokozuna Harumafuji will not compete at the upcoming Autumn Grand Sumo Tournament due to a troubled right elbow, his stablemaster Isegahama said on Thursday.

Harumafuji is still feeling the effects of a right elbow injury that forced him to pull of the Nagoya Basho in July. It is the sixth time he has withdrawn from a grand tournament.

Harumafuji escaped with a win over Myogiryu on the first day of the Nagoya meet, but hurt the elbow and pulled out the next day. He had surgery on the same elbow following the Summer Basho in May.
