Leicester City's new signing Shinji Okazaki expressed his delight at the chance to play in the Premier League when introduced by the British club at a news conference on Friday.

"I'm relishing the challenge at a new league at the age of 29. I'm hopeful I can find my brand new self," said Okazaki, who joined the Foxes from German side Mainz last month for a fee thought to be around €10 million.

Okazaki made his debut for his new side in a preseason friendly against Lincoln City on Tuesday. Leicester heads into the Premier League campaign under new manager Claudio Ranieri at home against Sunderland on Aug. 8.

Okazaki scored 15 goals in the 2013-2014 season for Mainz and in doing so became Japan's most prolific scorer in a single season in Europe's top leagues. He also hit double digits with 12 goals last season. The forward has also scored 44 goals in 93 games for Japan.

Leicester avoided relegation last season after winning seven of its last nine games to finish 14th.

Midfielder Yuki Abe played for the Foxes for a season and a half from August 2010.
