Brazilian striker Renato is expected to leave Kawasaki Frontale and join Chinese Super League team Guangzhou R&F, a source with the J. League club said Wednesday.

The 26-year-old Renato will fly to China this week and is set to sign with Guangzhou pending a medical.

Renato joined Frontale from Brazilian club Coritiba in 2012 and has scored 37 goals in 104 matches in the J. League top flight.

He has played 17 matches this term and scored nine goals, including a superb free kick this past weekend as Kawasaki kicked off the second stage of the season with a 2-0 win at home to FC Tokyo.

Guangzhou appeared in the Asian Champions League this season, but failed to advance from the group stage.
