Chiba Lotte Marines third baseman Toshiaki Imae was diagnosed with a fractured left wrist at an Osaka hospital on Tuesday and is expected to be out of action for between six and eight weeks.
Imae suffered the injury Tuesday, when he was hit by a pitch in the eighth inning of Lotte's 5-1 loss to the Orix Buffaloes.
Imae had played in all 79 of his team's games this season with a .301 batting average, one home run and 33 RBIs.
