English Premier League club Leicester City on Friday announced the signing of Japan international striker Shinji Okazaki, subject to a work permit and international clearance.

The 29-year-old Okazaki, who has scored 44 goals in 93 games for Japan, joins the Foxes from German Bundesliga club Mainz for an undisclosed fee, thought to be around €10 million.

"I am very happy to be here. To play in the Premier League is my dream and I will make every effort to help the team here at Leicester City," Okazaki said, according to a statement posted on the club's website.
