Shinji Kagawa scored one goal and created two more as Borussia Dortmund gave departing coach Jurgen Klopp a winning sendoff in his last Bundesliga match in charge with a 3-2 victory at home to Werder Bremen on Saturday, the final day of the season.

"The end of the campaign has come and it sort of feels like this is the first time this season that I have clicked," said Kagawa, who finished his first season back with Dortmund with five goals and five assists.

"The fluidity, the dynamism, everything. I thought I attacked especially well in the first half."

Kagawa said he felt he had improved in the second half of the season after the Asian Cup in January in Australia, where he missed his spot kick as Japan was knocked out of the tournament by United Arab Emirates 5-4 on penalties after a 1-1 draw.

"My condition was better in the second half of the season, after the Asian Cup," he said. "I was confident in my mind that I could achieve better results.

"But it's been the kind of season where I have got injured when things have been going well."
