Yokozuna Harumafuji got the judges' marching order for a do-over, then lost to rank-and-filer Sadanoumi, who sent him to his first defeat on the fourth day of the Summer Grand Sumo Tournament on Wednesday.

With the victory, Sadanoumi was among an unlikely quartet of wrestlers in a share of the lead at 4-0, while yokozuna Hakuho dismissed another would-be opponent in the form of Toyonoshima (1-3) to remain one off the pace with Harumafuji and ozeki Kisenosato in a logjam of 12 in the early going of the 15-day meet.

Harumafuji appeared to have won the first match when he tossed Sadanoumi while he went flying over the edge himself, but the ringside judges ruled that both men had hit the dohyo surface together. In the do-over, Sadanoumi teetered with one leg on the straw bales while pulling the yokozuna over the ridge.
