Takashi Toritani hit a go-ahead two-run homer in the eighth inning, lifting the Hanshin Tigers past the Hiroshima Carp in a 4-3 victory on Sunday afternoon.

After pinch hitter Ryota Arai drew a leadoff walk, the Tigers' captain, who had been hitless in three earlier at-bats including grounding into a double play, belted a shot off reliever Shota Nakazaki (0-2) over the right-field wall to overturn a 3-2 deficit.

With the victory, Hanshin snapped a six-game losing skid. Hiroshima was denied its fourth straight win.
