Japan forward Shinji Okazaki scored his 10th goal of the season on Saturday, when he scored the opener in Mainz's 2-0 German Bundesliga win at Augsburg.
Just past the half-hour mark, Okazaki got behind his marker, controlled a high Pablo de Blasis cross from the left and unleashed a powerful right-foot shot that beat Augsburg 'keeper Marwin Hitz. It marked the second straight season in which Okazaki has reached double digits in goals for his club.
"It's been a while since I've scored a goal like that," said Okazaki.
Elsewhere in the Bundesliga, Japan forward Genki Haraguchi scored his first league goal for Hertha Berlin, which was held at home to a 2-2 draw by Schalke.
