Sara Takanashi picked up her fourth World Cup win of the season with jumps of 88 meters and 90 meters for a total of 248.5 points Saturday.

Takanashi won over Austrian Daniela Iraschko-Stolz, the overall leader who finished with 245.4. Sarah Hendrickson of the United States was third with 237.1 — her first podium finish in two years after tearing her anterior cruciate ligament in the buildup to the Sochi Olympics.

Takanashi's 28th career victory, her second in a row, moved her within 89 points of Iraschko-Stolz in the rankings and gives her a chance to defend the World Cup title with two meets left.

"I managed to stay focused until the very, very end. The competition was close so I couldn't let up," Takanashi said. "On both the first and second attempts, I leaned into my jumps too much so that's an adjustment I have to make."

In the men's ski jumping competition in Vikersund, Norway, Noriaki Kasai reached the podium for the fifth time this season by placing third with 395.5 (218.5 meters, 225 meters).

Slovenia's Peter Prevc won with 438.8 after setting a new world record by landing at 250 meters. Kasai rewrote his own World Cup mark as the oldest podium finisher at 42 years, 8 months.
