Sara Takanashi landed a pair of 94-meter jumps to take second place in Saturday's women's World Cup event.

The two-time defending World Cup champion Takanashi earned 234.9 points, but finished runner-up to current leader Daniela Iraschko of Austria, who earned 239.1 with leaps of 94 and 92.5 meters. Norway's Lundby Maren was third.

"I was aiming to win it," said Takanashi, who was vying to win on the circuit for the first time in six competitions.

"I had a good feel for this hill. I didn't make any big mistakes. It makes me wonder what more it will take for me to get close to hitting my ideal jumps."

It was Iraschko's fourth victory of the season and the ninth of her career. She now leads the season standings with 722 points. Germany's Carina Vogt is second with 600 and Takanashi third with 573.
