Overnight leader Aoyama Gakuin University won the 91st running of the Tokyo-Hakone collegiate ekiden on Saturday, earning the school's first championship in the classic road race.

A day after winning the opening leg for the first time in the school's history, Aoyama Gakuin clocked 5 hours, 25 minutes, 29 seconds over the final 109.6 km to win the return leg for the first time as well.

Komazawa University, which led most of the first day until overtaken in the grueling uphill fifth stage by Daichi Kamino on Friday, finished second, 10:50 off Aoyama Gakuin's pace.
