Hall of Famer Frank Robinson, the first black manager in the big leagues, was sued with MLB commissioner Bud Selig by a woman executive who claims she was discriminated against.

Sylvia Lind, 48, said in a complaint filed Thursday in Manhattan federal court that MLB fails to employ Hispanic women as executives and discriminated against her in her job as director of baseball initiatives in the commissioner's office.

Lind claims Robinson, MLB's executive vice president of baseball development since June 2012, unfairly disparaged her work and promoted a younger white man over her. When Lind complained of the treatment internally, Robinson and Selig retaliated by subjecting her to a disciplinary action in which she was falsely accused of insubordination, according to her complaint.

Patrick Courtney, an MLB spokesman, didn't immediately respond to phone and e-mail messages seeking comment on the suit. Frank Robinson didn't immediately return a voice-mail message.
