The Yokohama BayStars announced Wednesday they have agreed to a one-year contract with former major league reliever Hideki Okajima.

The 38-year-old Okajima went 4-4 with a 2.11 ERA in 44 games for the Fukuoka Softbank Hawks last season but was released by the Japan Series champions after failing to come to terms on an extension.

Okajima's deal with the BayStars, who were fifth in the Central League in 2014, is worth ¥60 million plus performance-based incentives.
