Shinji Kagawa scored his second goal since returning to Borussia Dortmund in a 3-0 second-round win over St. Pauli in the German Cup on Tuesday.

Kagawa set up Ciro Immobile's opener in the 33rd minute and after Marco Reus doubled the lead in the 44th, the Japanese international locked up the win for Dortmund with four minutes left in a one-on-one with goalkeeper Philipp Tschauner.

Kagawa netted in his Dortmund reprisal against Freiburg on Sept. 13 in the Bundesliga but hadn't scored since. Jurgen Klopp's side hasn't won in the league since and is 15th in the table.

"Really wanted a result here so it means a lot," said Kagawa. "We're in a very tight spot. It was like this at Manchester United, but when things aren't working out everyone becomes too negative.

"But Dortmund have a lot of players who put the team first, which is one of the strengths of the club. Teamwork is far more important here. I think we're close to ending this bad run of form. We have to keep winning, we need results. That's the best way to restore confidence in any team."
