Japan's Ryo Ishikawa crashed out of title contention after carding a disastrous 8-over-par 78 in the third round of the Wyndham Championship on Saturday.

Ishikawa started the day in the seventh place and just two shots off the lead after he posted a 62 on Friday for his lowest score on the U.S. tour.

But it all went horribly wrong in the third round as Ishikawa made one birdie, two bogeys, two double bogeys and a triple bogey at the par-70 Sedgefield Coutnry Club to plummet down the leaderboard into 67th place.

"My opening tee shot went to the left and I made a bogey and it all went downhill from there," said Ishikawa. "My second shots and my putts were bad and I could not get a good feeling going with my driver. I am really disappointed."

American Nick Watney shot a 65 and was top of the leaderboard at 14-under 196.
