Led by Yoshihide Kiryu, Japan claimed a silver medal in the men's 4x100-meter relay at the IAAF World Junior Championships on Saturday in Eugene, Oregon.

Yuki Koike, Takuya Kawakami and Masaharu Mori helped Japan complete the race in 39.02 seconds, finishing behind the United States (38.70). Jamaica took home the silver in 39.12.

Also at the IAAF meet, Daisuke Matsunaga earned a gold in the men's 10,000-meter race walk, Nobuya Kato took silver in the 400, Kiryu got the bronze in the 100 and Shotaro Shimoyama was third in the long jump.

The junior worlds concludes on Sunday.
