LONDON – English Premier League club Arsenal revealed Thursday that Japan forward Ryo Miyaichi will be out of action for the remainder of this season.
According to the club, it will be impossible for the 21-year-old Miyaichi to return to duty this season due to a serious hamstring injury he suffered in an under-21 game on Saturday.
Miyaichi, who had an operation on his right ankle a year ago, has recently suffered a rash of injuries and has been unable to earn playing time with the Gunners.
This season, Miyaichi appeared in just one Premier League game, when he played 17 minutes in a 3-1 home win against Stoke City on Sept. 22. He also appeared twice in European action and twice in league cup games.
