Forward Yuya Osako scored in his overseas debut for German second-division club TSV 1860 Munich in Monday's 1-1 home draw with Dusseldorf.
The former Kashima Antlers man put his club in front when he opened his account in the 63rd minute. Osako pounced on Dusseldorf 'keeper Fabiam Giefer's fumble and put it in the net to give the Lions the lead.
Dusseldorf's Ben Halloran equalized for the visitors seven minutes later.
"The first one is important," Osako said. "If this allows me to settle down even more, I'll be able to play my kind of game."
