Tomoka Takeuchi placed second again in the women's parallel giant slalom in the final alpine snowboarding event of the World Cup season on Saturday.

Takeuchi went through to the final tournament after placing 10th in the heats, but missed out on victory after she was beaten by Switzerland's Patrizia Kumer. Takeuchi has finished second in all three of her parallel giant slalom events this season.

"Second is a good result, but I am really disappointed that I haven't been able to win the discipline," said Takeuchi. "Everything has been going smoothly so far and I want to get the gold medal (at the Winter Olympics) in Sochi."
